Raising funds for good causes

BOFF is a not-for-profit enterprise. It is a commercial event though, and when everything goes to plan, we do make more money that we spend. Each year we keep back enough to fund the following year’s event and anything else is given to good causes. In the last few years this is what we have raised:

  • 2025 – £5000 to Ailsa’s Aim, £250 to Friends of the Carribean, £500 Friends of Olney Infant School
  • 2024 – £3,800 to Alzheimer’s Society
  • 2023 – £4,787 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association

Previous years – £2000 to Young Minds; £1300 to the Friends of Olney Library; £1000 to Olney is Kind and £1000 to the Olney Ukraine Fund. Some of this is from event surplus and some from our charity raffle.

This year, our event is proud to support Willen Hospice, a dedicated local charity providing compassionate, specialist care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses across Milton Keynes. Willen Hospice offers invaluable medical support, pain management, and emotional guidance completely free of charge, ensuring patients spend their time in comfort and dignity. Their vital services extend beyond the hospice walls directly into patient homes, alongside essential counseling and grief support for families. Because they rely heavily on community donations to run, every penny raised through our event helps them continue this crucial work. Thank you for making a difference.

The Raffle

Our raffle is a little bit different, in that you choose which prizes you want to buy tickets for.

Entries cost £5 each or £20 for 5 and will be on sale throughout the event until close at 5.00pm on Sunday.

£5 will provide you with one entry for one specific prize plus one entry into our lucky dip. You choose which prize you want your entry to be registered against.  You can enter as many times as you like, for as many prizes as you would like. Each entry will cost you £5.

The mechanics are all done online, but you will be given a ticket and you will receive an emailed receipt.

The draw will be pulled at 6.30pm on Sunday evening.  Winners will be contacted directly by email during the following week, and a list of winners will be available on request. You do not have to be at the final draw to win – we will contact you if you are a winner.

We are amazingly grateful to our donors who have supplied prizes of high value – but it takes just one £5 ticket to win! Of course, the more tickets you have, the higher your chance of winning. Be lucky!
